The style of psychotherapy that I offer in these Skype sessions is called Mindfulness Therapy, and this is growing tremendously in popularity in the last 10 years. Mindfulness Therapy provides a way of working with your unresolved emotions in a very direct way, cultivating awareness and cultivating friendship toward your emotions, developing a relationship with them that allows them to change and heal. Most people react to painful emotions like anxiety or depression with aversion and resistance. But, aversion only makes things worse and actually prevents the recovery and resolution of anxiety or depression. Healing and resolution occur after you fully embrace your emotional pain with this compassionate awareness that we call mindfulness. It may be difficult to do at first, but it is the most fastest way to overcome anxiety and depression.
